Blood Pressure Management Program
Make A Healthy Change
Research shows that the simple process of checking and recording your blood pressure at least twice a month over four months may lower blood pressure in people with high blood pressure. Proper nutrition with a reduction in sodium and engaging in regular physical activity each week can also lead to a considerable reduction in blood pressure.
In this four month program participants will be encouraged to:
- Measure their blood pressure at least two times per month
- Engage in 180 minutes of physical activity each week
- Attend two office hour consultations per month
- Attend two nutriton education seminars over four months
All participants will record their blood pressure readings and physical activity minutes in method of their choosing (tracker booklet, website, calendar, etc), and bring data to the office hour consultations. Specific group exercise classes will also be available free of charge to participants enrolled in this program.
Blood pressure monitors are available for participants for a discounted rate of $10.00. Scholarships are available for those in need.
Please see Angelos Wilson or Michael Mading to register for the self-monitoring program. Free to members.
