TAKE YOUR FITNESS TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS!

The YMCA offers community classes outside at Shelby Farms Park from May-October. Spending more time outside improves mood, reduces stress, improves sleep, and increases Vitamin D levels for better immunity and energy!

Community classes are free for everyone, so invite your friends to tag along! We meet at the Hyde Park Visitor Center Front Porch overlooking beautiful Hyde Lake. Classes are rain or shine, but will be cancelled for thunderstorms or extreme heat. Sign up in the YMCA app or on the Shelby Farms Park website to receive weather updates.

YMCA INSTRUCTOR-LED CLASSES

 

MONDAYS

6:30 AM - Yoga Flow

A dynamic series of flowing sequences that emphasize breath, alignment, and mindful movement, all set to an inspiring playlist. Participants will improve strength, mobility, balance, and mental focus in this energizing yet approachable class.

5:30 PM - Line Dancing

Have fun in the sun with Line Dancing at the park. Wear comfortable clothes, supportive shoes, and groove your way into the week with a great playlist. No experience required!

TUESDAYS

5:30 PM - Yoga Flow (BodyBalance)

A dynamic series of flowing sequences that emphasize breath, alignment, and mindful movement, all set to an inspiring playlist. Participants will improve strength, mobility, balance, and mental focus in this energizing yet approachable class.

WEDNESDAYS

6:30 AM - Pilates

A mat-based class focused on core stability, posture, proper breath control, and flexibility. Each class will work to balance the strength and flexibility of all muscle groups, with an emphasis on challenging the core muscles with each movement. Classes will be taught using slow, controlled movements.

5:00 PM - Kids' Yoga

This kid-friendly yoga class flows through a series of basic yoga poses in a fun and engaging way. Children will practice mindfulness, body control, balance, and breathing techniques. Family members are encouraged to join but are not required to participate.

THURSDAYS

6:00 PM - Yoga Sculpt

A creative blend of yoga-inspired flows, short cardio bursts, balance sequences, and bodyweight strength training, all set to crazy fun music. Improve your strength, balance, flexibility, and overall fitness in this SoulFusion workout. 

FRIDAYS

6:30 AM - Yoga Flow
