Ages 6 – 12

Splashball™ is designed to introduce the sport of water polo to children. The intent is to provide basic skills and understanding of the sport in a recreational format. Although water polo is known for its toughness and endurance, Splashball™ harnesses all the fun, dynamic aspects of the game in a safe, easy to learn aquatic experience that will motivate kids to swim and stay fit.

Developmental Swim Team

Join the YMCA at Schilling Farms Developmental Swim Team, Flying Fish. Participants must be able to swim at least 25 yards, using a combination of front, back, and breast strokes. Class is designed to improve swim strokes, style, and endurance.

Monday – Thursday (Class is 45 minutes in length)

2018 Specialty Camps


Join us for weeklong camps for members and nonmembers:

  • Basketball Clinic – Designed to help young players develop the critical skills of basketball, have fun, and learn to love the game of basketball.
  • Baseball Clinic – Learn and refine your baseball skills side by side with a Pro! Participants will have fun working on their hitting, fielding, and love of the game.
  • Y Dance – Get a taste of our new Y Dance Program!  Three different sessions will be offered: Hip Hop, Dance Around the World, and Musical Theater.
  • Summer Sports Performance Clinic – This camp is designed for all – novices to athletes – to improve their linear speed, lateral quickness and agility, vertical movements, and overall power.
  • Home Economics – Participants may learn how to knit, crochet, budget, and meal prep, among other life skills offered in two different camps.

At the Y, we believe that the ability to swim is a critical life-saving skill for every child, teen and adult. In group swim lessons we use a variety of fun methods to help kids overcome fears, build confidence in the water and develop skills that last a lifetime. Qualified instructors meet kids at their own level, help families set achievable goals, and celebrate success.

Parent/Child: (6 months – 3 years old)

Children who are not potty-trained must wear swim diapers. Classes are 30 minutes in length.

Improve Your Stats

Led by Austin King, the Y Sports Performance Program is a year-round training program designed to improve speed and agility, flexibility and core, while also focusing on weight training for the in-season and off-season.

Age: High School Athletes 14+

You do not have to be a member to participate in this program.

We will also be offering week-long clinics this summer. Austin will be leading our Sports Performance and Baseball Skills Clinics for ages 5 and up.

Austin King is a certified ISSA Personal Trainer and holds a NSCA Strength and Conditioning Certification. For the past 6+ years he has been a Sports Performance Trainer for youth and collegiate athletes. Additionally, Austin played in the Los Angeles Dodgers organization for over 3 years.

Are You Whistle Worthy?

Become a YMCA certified lifeguard through our life guard/professional rescuer course. Those who pass the course will be certified in CPR, First Aid, and emergency oxygen. Physical skills must be passed prior to the class.

Entrance Requirements:

All participants must be 16 years of age or older, have access to a computer and email for the eLearning lessons, and pass the swimming skills assessment on the first night of class.

Item to Bring to All Classes/Attendance:

Swimsuit, towel, class materials (provided), and all homework and eLearning assignments indicated on the class syllabus. 100% attendance is required; no make-up dates are offered.

LIVESTRONG® at the YMCA is a small-group program that helps adult cancer survivors reclaim their health and well-being following a cancer diagnosis. Through this program YMCAs are creating communities among cancer survivors and guiding them through safe physical activity, helping them build supportive relationships, and reducing stress – leading to an improved quality of life.

The program consists of group exercise using cardio equipment and strength training machines, guest speakers, and more, all in a support group atmosphere. The program is open to the public and will be free of charge.

To become a part of this session participants need to be 18 years old and up. Participants with any type of cancer are welcome. They may be going through treatments or not — may even be long time cancer survivor that needs help getting back to their normal life.

Y Dance!

Ages 2 – 12

The YMCA at Schilling Farms is proud to now offer dance classes for ages 2 – 12 years old! Classes in multiple genres provide students with a comprehensive dance education that promotes confidence, self-expression, body awareness, musicality, and appreciation for the arts.

Creative Movement (Ages 2 – 3)

Creative Movement is a thirty minute introductory dance class for 2 and 3 year olds containing ballet and creative movement. Students are introduced to basic ballet vocabulary, while exploring movement and music in a fun, creative way. Our instructor uses imagination games, upbeat age-appropriate music and props like scarves, hula hoops, and balls to inspire and excite students about dance. Students will also work on classroom skills such as following directions, listening and working with others. This class is a positive and fun experience for all! Ballet slippers and dance apparel is recommended.


Tot Beginner Ballet (Ages 3-5 Years) – Instructors Linda, Dana, or Andrea

Offer creative movement, ballet basics with simple dance steps, rhythm and coordination skills. A perfect class for younger dancers with little or no dance experience. Ballet slippers are required. Dance apparel is recommended.


Jr. Beginner Ballet (Ages 6-9 Years) – Instructor Linda or Dana

Students will be introduced to the skills of an age-appropriate ballet class, in an active, playful manner. Ballet slippers are required. Dance apparel is recommended.


Kids Hip Hop (Ages 5-8 or 9-12 Years) – Instructors Linda & Dana

Students will be introduced to fun street hip hop steps, easy to learn fun hip hop moves, and combinations of jazz technique set to age appropriate music. Fun for all! Boys and girls welcome! Tennis shoes are required.

Option to draft every 4 weeks with payments or pay the 16 week session in full. Drafts can only be set up in person at the Schilling Farms YMCA as it cannot be done online. No classes during the week of March 12th. Annual Recital is on Saturday, May 19th. Affordable costumes will be purchased closer to the recital.


Boot Camp

Now only $35/Month!

Get back to functional fitness with out Boot Camp classes! Boot camp is a total body workout program. Workouts are different each day. They include sports conditioning drills, strength training, intervals and traditional endurance cardio drills. Each workout will offer a variety of different exercises to keep you and your body guessing and promote change over the course of the program.

Krav Maga Self Defense

Krav Maga is a self-defense class originally developed by the Israeli Defense Force. It is designed to teach real self-defense in a short time using simple principles and instinctive movements. Sign up at the Welcome Center.
